Spoiled

I went to pick up Sassypants from school yesterday and she greeted me with a frown. I thought maybe she had gotten into some trouble at school- well, no. She says "Mommy, my lunch wasn't even special today! There was nothing special!" Ouch! I was kind of hurried and tired the night before last and I didn't put as much time into her lunch as usual- I did roll the sandwich and cut it like "sushi" and I placed her other items in silicone cups BUT I didn't include any pics or cut shapes out! I have spoiled my daughter...again

This is her lunch today- hopefully I have redeemed myself
cream cheese and jelly heart sami, cut up cheese stick and a few candy corn, bananas, and wheat thin sticks- I included a pumpkin googly eyed sticker as a peace offering!! Happy Halloween!!

Oh the fickle 4yr old!

My little girl has always been a GREAT eater, I don't just mean that she will eat alot, I mean she will eat things that most kids won't. She has always loved veggies- she even asks for salad with her meal! She loves to snack on red, yellow, orange peppers, she like cucumbers, peas, carrots and many other veggies. We get comments all the time on her eating habits. WELL, recently these beloved veggies have been coming home in her lunch! I hope that it's just a phase because I would hate to think that all this time (the hardest time to get kids to try new things) we have done so great at giving her a variety and now she decided that she doesn't like them. Don't get me wrong, I will still put them in her lunchbox, but I would rather not have to throw them out later!

Sprinkles!!

This is Sassypants' bento for tomorrow; turkey on croissant with googly eyes (cereal attached with cream cheese) and a smile drawn with food safe marker, ghost marshmallow, applesauce with sprinkles, grape tomatoes, an "I Love You" string cheese, and some carrots and grapes scattered to add stability.

Bento and a Baby

Ok, so I started making bento lunches for my daughter after all these blogs that I found were showing off their kid's lunches ( and I was secretly jealous of how awesome they looked!) I was really into using my creativity in a way that would also knock out one of my daily "chores" in a fun way! so, here are a few of my bentos that I have made

As you can see I am just getting started- I am not that good yet but Sassypants loves them!

I wanted to share some GREAT news - I have a brand new nephew!! He was born at 10:31am and weighed 8lbs 3oz and was 20 1/2in long. He is adorable!!
That makes the grandkid total for my parents 4 boys and 3 girls!!

Maiden Post!

I have been reading blogs for weeks now, I start on one and then it links to another and then so on and so on. I have so many blogs in my favorites tab that I can't remember which ones are about what. I just think its so interesting to get a glimpse into other peoples lives from anywhere around the world.

This first post of mine will mainly be an introduction - I have no idea what this blog will be about, no clue as to how often I will post things and if anyone at all will read this. But, I figure if nothing else this can serve as a diary of sorts (because I HATE writing, like by hand)

I work full-time as a book keeper/receptionist/secretary/only woman in the office (whatever you want to call it). I am married to a hot guy, JJ,  who happens to be a HERO and he keeps me laughing everyday. As a civilian he works as a technician for a communications company. We have two daughters so far ( I say so far because we would like to try for a third child and we could end up with another girl, sorry honey!) Sassypants is 4 she will be 5 in November and she is an absolute blessing. We had her before my husband deployed on 2005 and she kept me sane while he was gone. She is so much fun and has the best personality. I think she will be an actress or singer or something in the limelight some day. She goes to a Methodist Day School and is learning so many things to get ready for kindergarten next year. (eek, she will be in Kinder?) Our new addition is Chubbycheeks, she is 3 months old and I assume at some point I will have to stop calling her this as it may give her a complex. She is adorable and recently has started smiling all the time- its great because the first two months she was not happy at all. I didn't know what I would do with two girls and I still don't but so far we wear pink, frilly things and big bows. We love the Lord and we give him thanks for everything that we have- materialisticly speaking not much- but in the love department- overflowing. We have a big family that I am sure I will write about once in a while since we see them daily. Thats about it for now but I guess thats the beauty of blogs, if I forget something I can always add it later.
